New Caney grad homers for White Sox
New Caney High School graduate Adam Dunn homered among his career-high four hits on Wednesday, as the Chicago White Sox Took down the Los Angeles Angels in 10 innings, 4-3.
Dunn went 4-for-5, with an RBI, his fourth homer of the year, a walk and three runs scored in the late night victory.
Dunn is a 1998 graduate of New Caney High School and was a second-round selection (50th overall) of the Cincinnati Reds in 1998 Major League Baseball draft. Dunn signed with the Reds on June 11, 1998, bypassing an opportunity to attend the University of Texas. He made his major league debut with Cincinnati on July 20, 2001 and spent parts of eight seasons with the Reds before being traded for Arizona in 2008. After playing for Washington during the 2009 and 2010 seasons, he signed a free agent contact with the Chicago White Sox for 2011. Entering 2011, Dunn has 354 career home runs while driving in 880 runs in his major league career. He was born Nov. 9, 1979.
