Former employee accuses Comcast of harassment, wrongful discharge
Comcast, with offices in Cy-Fair, is being sued over claims it retaliated against a former employee for filing a workers' compensation claim.
Oralia Wortman filed a lawsuit on May 12 in the Harris County District Court against Comcast of Houston alleging, among other things, wrongful discharge.
Wortman says that on May 29, 2009, she sustained serious injuries to her head, neck, shoulder and back while on the job at Comcast of Houston. After Wortman filed a Workers’ Compensation claim, she endured harassment and discrimination, which eventually led to her wrongful discharge, according to the brief.
Wortman is seeking actual and exemplary damages, as well as court costs. She is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Thomas Thurlow.
