HS baseball playoffs: Langham Creek falls to Memorial
Memorial used a huge seven-run inning capped off by a Wayne Taylor grand slam to win the game, 9-3.
"They were up on us, 1-0, and had quite a bit of momentum," Memorial coach Jeremy York said. "You could kind of feel momentum moving our way as we scored a few runs, but when Wayne hit that home run, momentum moved into our dugout.
"Momentum, in my opinion, is as big in baseball as in any other sport," York added. "Kids feed off of that."
York said "Casey Clemens pitched extremely well and we took him out in the seventh because of high pitch count.
"He’s just a young'un, a sophomore," York said. "He had one inning where he struggled a bit but, he bounced back."
Logan Onda was the losing pitcher for Langham Creek. The two teams will continue their playoff series today at 1 p.m.
