HS baseball playoffs: Cy Creek falls to Seven Lakes
Cy Creek fell to Seven Lakes in their Class 5A Area playoff series in three games. The teams played a double-header on Saturday due to a Friday night rain out.
Cy Creek won game two, 13-9, answering Seven Lakes' game one 7-4 win. But then the Spartans took the clinching game, 7-5.
"The day belonged to Kendall Stacks," Seven Lakes coach Chad Payne said. "It's not that we put it on him to win it, but in some cases we did and he was just Mr. Clutch for us in the field, at the plate, and he closed the series for us on the mound."
Payne said that Stacks even contributed "several diving plays" at shortstop and helped turn a pair of double plays.
On the day, Stacks went 6-for-8 with four home runs, 10 RBIs, 5 runs scored, and earned the save on the hill.
