New principal named for Campbell Middle
From a press release on the Cy-Fair ISD website:
Cheryl Henry, the director of instruction at Spillane Middle School, was named the new principal for Campbell Middle School, replacing Dr. Robert Hatcher.
Henry has 21 years of experience in education. She began her career as a social studies teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District and spent one year in San Diego prior to returning to LAUSD, where she was soon promoted to Dean of Students at Narbonne High School. She served four years before being promoted to assistant principal at King/Drew Magnet School in LAUSD, where she spent another four years. Henry moved to Texas to serve two years as an assistant principal at Klein Forest High School in Klein ISD before arriving in CFISD to serve in her current role with Spillane in 2007-2008.
Henry received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology and Afro-American studies from the University of California-Los Angeles and her Master of Education from Stanford University. She holds Texas principal and Social Studies 8-12 certifications.
I have been incredibly blessed since joining the CFISD family to have been surrounded by outstanding administrators, teachers and other staff," Henry said. This makes the honor of being selected as the next principal of Campbell Middle School extremely humbling. I am excited and proud to be a Campbell Gator and I look forward to working with the students, staff, parents and community to continue and expand upon the rich history and traditions of Campbell."
