St. Mark Lutheran School names salutatorian

St. Mark Lutheran School recently announced Hannah O'Malley as its salutatorian for the eighth grade Class of 2011.

St. Mark Lutheran School recently announced Hannah O'Malley as its salutatorian for the eighth grade Class of 2011.

O'Mally has attended St. Mark since pre-kindergarten. During fifth through eighth grade, she achieved High Honor Roll as well as earned the President’s Education Award. She excelled as a member of  and state medalist in both the Private School Interscholastic Association and Duke TIP programs.

In addition to her academic achievements, O'Malley participated in both individual and team sports throughout her years at St. Mark. As an All-Cougar Team member, she participated in volleyball, basketball and track on both junior varsity and varsity teams. She also played the flute in the St. Mark band and performed in school productions.

O'Malley is also active in her church youth group and participates in the Altar Server Ministry.

Hannah, who is the daughter of Cypress residents Tim and Kiersten O’Malley, will attend Cy-Ridge High School this fall.

St. Mark Lutheran School offers a Christian environment for students in pre-school through eighth grade. The school is located at 1515 Hillendahl Blvd. in the Memorial area.
