Cy-Fair doctor accuses another with same name of stealing referrals
A Cy-Fair doctor accuses another doctor with the same name of stealing patient referrals.
Dr. Saqib Siddiqui filed a lawsuit against Dr. Shah Siddiqui June 3 in Harris County District Court. The defendant is accused of seeing patients that he says unknowingly booked appointments with the wrong Dr. Siddiqui.
According to the complaint, Dr. Saqib Siddiqui is an orthopedic surgeon who gets a majority of his Houston-area patients as referrals from other doctors. Dr. Saqib Siddiqui says several patients were referred to him but unknowingly went to see Dr. Shah Siddiqui by mistake.
Dr. Saqib Siddiqui alleges Dr. Shah Siddiqui did not tell those patients he was not the same doctor and, in some cases, even represented himself as Dr. Saqib Siddiqui. He says he has requested the defendant pay him a portion of lost revenue for those misdirected patients, but he says that has not happened.
Dr. Saqib Siddiqui accuses Dr. Shah Siddiqui of interfering with his patients and receiving unjust enrichment. He asks for an undisclosed amount of money in damages and court costs.
Attorneys Mark A. Counts and Christopher J. Kronzer are representing Dr. Saqib Siddiqui.
