Area student earns Chevron National Merit Scholarship

Andrew J. Best of Strake Jesuit College Preparatory School was recently awarded a National Merit Chevron Corporation Scholarship.

Winners are the candidates judged to have the strongest combination of academic skills and achievements, extracurricular accomplishments and potential for success in rigorous college studies.

By the conclusion of the 2011 National Merit Scholarship Program, approximately 8,300 National Merit Scholarships, worth nearly $35 million, will have been offered to distinguished high school seniors for college undergraduate study.
