HFAC announces auditions for Kissless the Musical

The Houston Family Arts Center Actors Academy will hold auditions for Kissless the Musical on Sunday, July 3, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Kissless the Musical, with music and book by Houston native and radio personality Chance McLain, is the story of two very different people forced to live together for the summer and the unlikely relationship that develops to the dismay of their friends and family.

Actors can make an appointment by emailing academyauditions@houstonfac.com for an audition timeslot. They must include their phone number in their request. Auditions will be performed in front of an audition panel including, but not limited to, the director, music director, choreographer and playwright.

Auditions will consist of a memorized monologue and a song in the style of the show. To listen to music from the show, go to www.kisslessthemusical.com. Actors should prepare one short vocal selection, 16 to 32 measures, with printed piano accompaniment or an accompaniment CD without vocal. A pianist will be available at auditions.

Actors should bring a resume and headshot. There is no fee to audition; however, there will be a $300 workshop participation fee for all actors cast in the show.

Auditions will be held at the Houston Family Arts Center Actors Academy, located at 10754 Grant Road.

Rehearsals begin on Monday, July 11. A complete calendar of rehearsal dates will be available at auditions. A preview for the show will take place on Friday, Oct. 14. The show runs Friday, Oct. 14, through Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Berry Center. The show starts on Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. and concludes with a 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday.
