Cy Woods remains unbeaten in 15-5A

With its defeat of Langham Creek, the Cy Woods boys basketball team remains undefeated in district play and is in firm control of first place in District 15-5A. Cy Woods beat Langham Creek 64-54 Tuesday night.
Chronicle reporter Sam Khan Jr. wrote the game story. From the article:
With his team clinging to a 48-47 lead with less than four minutes to go in a battle between the top two teams in District 15-5A, [DeMarco] Richardson made the play of the night. Langham Creek senior guard Mackey McKnight (24 points, five rebounds) came up with one of his three steals on the night and found an open Duke Reed for what appeared to be an easy fast-break layup to give the Lobos a one-point advantage.
Richardson's hustle found him in the right spot at the right time as he swatted Reed's shot off the glass, which was picked up and sent the other way for an eventual three-point play by Cy Woods guard O.J. Moore, giving the Wildcats a 51-47 lead. After that block, the Wildcats (16-4, 5-0 District 15-5A), went on an 11-3 run to blow the game open secure their second district road win in as many weeks.
