School supply drive benefits area children

Children need a lot of supplies when they go back to school. From pens, pencils and crayons, to paper, erasers and backpacks, the Auxiliary at Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital recently donated dozens of these items and other necessities to Cypress Assistance Ministries (CAM) to help area children as they head back to the classroom. This is the second year the hospital Auxiliary has donated school supplies to CAM as part of their commitment to education. The Auxiliary also uses gift shop proceeds to award scholarships to deserving high school students pursuing careers in health care.
School supplies, which are available for almost all grade levels, will be distributed through CAM to families according to need. Children benefitting from the supply drive attend schools in the greater Cypress Fairbanks area. We have this school supply donation drive because we want to make sure the next generation has everything they need to succeed," says Toni Wessley, president of the Volunteer Auxiliary at Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital. By helping the children of our friends and neighbors we are helping to build a better, stronger community."
