Cy-Fair daycare blamed for death of 9-month-old
Harris County parents are suing a Cy-Fair-area daycare, claiming it is responsible for the death of their 9-month-old son.
Heber Fuentes and Corena Hernandez, as next of kin to their minor child, filed a lawsuit on July 8 in the Harris County District Court against Kids R People 2 Inc., citing negligence, negligent supervision and negligent hiring.
Fuentes and Hernandez say that on June 3 they left their 9-month-old son, Andrew, in the care of Kids R People 2, a Cy-Fair-area daycare. Later that day, Kids R People 2 employees notified Fuentes and Hernandez of an incident concerning Andrew, who was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the brief.
The plaintiffs are seeking compensatory and punitive damages, as well as court costs. They are being represented in the case by Houston attorney Muhammad Aziz.
