Free prostate screenings to be offered in Cypress
North Cypress Medical Center will host a free prostate screening on Monday, Sept. 19.
In honor of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month of September, screening will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will include Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) testing and a physical examination.
Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancer found in men and the second leading cause of cancer death in males. This type of cancer tends to grow very slowly causing it to be difficult to detect. Symptoms are rarely visible until the cancer has well advanced, therefore PSA testing is essential in the early detection of prostate cancer.
Men must be 40 years or older to qualify for the screening. Registration before attending the screening is preferred.
The North Cypress Cancer Center is located at 21216 Northwest Freeway, Professional Building 1, Suite 110 in Cypress.
For more information or to register for the screening, call 832-912-3734.
