Golf tournament to benefit Cy-Fair scholarship fund
The FORE Cy-Fair Golf Tournament will take place Oct. 17 at the Longwood Golf Club.
Registration, the putting contest and lunch will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. At 11:30 a.m., there will be a scramble-shotgun start. And, at 5 p.m., there will be an awards dinner and golf ball drop.
This annual golf tournament benefits the Adam Skinner Memorial Scholarship of the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation. In the 15 years since the tournament was established, more than $74,000 has been given to the Adam Skinner Memorial Scholarship, which was created to honor any male Cy-Fair High School graduating senior who shared similar interests as Adam. To date, 11 students have earned money from this scholarship fund.
The Cy-Fair Educational Foundation provides college scholarships for Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District graduating seniors. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded more than $4 million in scholarships to more than 900 graduates.
