Shots fired during possible robbery of armored car on 249
Gunfire erupted during what appears to be a robbery attempt, possibly of an armored car, on Texas 249 late this morning in far northwest Houston.
The shootout occurred at 17195 Tomball Parkway near Gessner about 11:20 a.m. Monday, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said no injuries were reported.
Details are sketchy, but preliminary reports indicate at least two men exchanged gunfire with a guard in a parking lot near a diner, police said.
The men sped away in a black Dodge Intrepid after the shooting.
No descriptions of the men or the license plate on the getaway car were available.
