Volunteers sought for beautification of Hairgrove Elementary
Volunteers are being asked to provide a landscape makeover to Hairgrove Elementary on Aug. 13.
Volunteers will clean-up the school, replace dead plants, add new potted plants to the school’s entrance, create a raised vegetable garden that will be used as a teaching center and create an attractive outdoor area.
Volunteers must be adults or ages 13 to 17 with a parent or guardian. The project will begin at 8 a.m. and continue to 1 p.m.
This project is a joint effort by LandEscape Designs, Copperfield Church and Calvary Community Church. The two churches seek to make a visible difference at a school were 81 percent of the student population is socio-economically challenged.
Those wishing to volunteer can contact Dennis Eck at dennis.eck@nationalalloy.com.
The project also needs materials and is accepting donations. Those who would like to make a donation of money or supplies can contact Tim Meeks at tmm@calvaryhouston.com or by fax at 281-550-8266.
For more information about the project, contact Kathy Vosberg at Kathy@landescapedesigns.com.
