Cy Woods HS grad knocks in two for GCL Pirates

Cy Woods High School graduate Jared Lakind went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a walk, but the Gulf Coast League Pirates lost to the GCL Yankees, 8-5, Wednesday.

Lakind is a 2010 graduate of Cy Woods High School. He was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 23rd round (687th overall) of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft.

Lakind signed his first professional contract on Aug. 16, 2010, and began his pro career with the Pirates' rookie team of the Gulf Coast League. Lakind was born March 9, 1992, in Cypress.
