Staples locations offer free supplies for teachers

Staples will host a “Teacher Appreciation Day” at store locations across the country on Saturday, Aug. 13.

From 9 a.m. to noon, the first 100 teachers will receive a reusable lunch bag filled with pens, eraser caps, note tabs, a one-subject notebook, glue sticks and sticky notes. They will also receive a coupon sheet with great savings on classroom supplies from top brands like Crayola, Spectrum and Eureka.

The Houston-area Staples hosting Teacher Appreciation Day are located at 10045 Almeda Genoa Road, 1919 Taylor St., 19714 Northwest Freeway, 4701 FM 1960 Road West, 6022 E. Sam Houston Parkway North, 8225 S. Gessner Road, 520 Gulfgate Center Mall and 14404 Hillcroft Ave.

Teacher Appreciation Day aims to provide teachers with the tools they need to be successful in the classroom. According to the National Education Association, each year more than 90 percent of teachers spend hundreds of dollars of their own money on classroom materials.
