Cy Woods HS grad Jared Lakind goes deep in Gulf Coast League victory
Jared Lakind
Cy Woods High School graduate Jared Lakind hit his fourth home run of the season, a two-run shot, as the Gulf Coast League Pirates beat up the GCL Phillies, 11-4, Saturday.
Lakind is a 2010 graduate of Cy Woods High School. He was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 23rd round (687th overall) of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft.
Lakind signed his first professional contract on Aug. 16, 2010, and began his pro career with the Pirates' rookie team of the Gulf Coast League. Lakind was born March 9, 1992, in Cypress.
