Wii Bowling event to be held for seniors in Cy-Fair
Aetna Medicare will hold a Wii Bowling championship as part of its national Wii Sports Resort Competition to promote fitness.
The competition is being used as a way to engage seniors in activity that is beneficial and not overly taxing. The Nintendo Wii can simulate exercise and fitness activities in a way that is fun, safe and helps seniors avoid falls and maintain good health, according to a press release.
The young at heart will demonstrate how new technology can benefit people of all ages when competitors play virtual games of bowling. Afterward, scores from Houston will be compared to those from different regions around the state to determine a winner, who will compete in a bowl-off on Sept. 23 at the AARP National Event Expo in Los Angles.
The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, at the Village on the Park, 12102 Steepleway Blvd.
