Lone Star's Cy-Fair campus to host Sept. 11 commemoration

Lone Star College-CyFair (LSC-CyFair) will hold free staged readings of Anne Nelson’s “The Guys”  in observance of the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11th attacks.

“The Guys" takes places less than two weeks after the attacks. An editor named Joan receives an unexpected phone call from Nick, a fire captain who has lost most of his men in the attack. Nick needs a writer to help him with the eulogies he will present at the memorial services. They then spend a long afternoon recalling the fallen men by recounting their virtues and foibles and fashioning the stories into poignant tributes.

The first performance, with a reception to follow, will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, in the Main Stage Theatre in the LSC-CyFair Center for the Arts Building, located at 9191 Barker Cypress.

The second limited-seating performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, at the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department Station #11, located at 18134 West Road.
