Lone Star's Cy-Fair campus to hold open house
Lone Star College-CyFair (LSC-CyFair) will hold an open house for adults 50 and older on Saturday, Sept. 10.
The Academy for Lifelong Learning (A.L.L.) at LSC-CyFair will be holding registration for its Fall classes from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Some 80 different classes with topics from food to finance, arts to agriculture, history lessons to how to find happiness will be offered.
Class times range from a few hours to several weeks. Most are free with some requiring only a nominal event, supply or entrance fee.
“A.L.L. members have a unique opportunity to interact with friends, neighbors and community leaders with similar interests,” said Continuing Education Director Kenya White. “With new classes, trips and social activities for continued intellectual and personal growth included in the schedule every semester, A.L.L. has something for everyone.
The annual membership fee of $20 is good from September to August 2012 and allows members to take advantage of extra perks at the college and in the area, such as discounts at plays, concerts, movies and restaurants. In addition, members have the opportunity teach an A.L.L. class or serve on the A.L.L. advisory board and/or committees.
