Wildfire nearing Harris County line
The wildfire that has spread across 12,600 acres in Montgomery, Waller and Grimes Counties this week is edging its way toward northern Harris County.
In Montgomery County, emergency officials reported that three homes have burned, and Magnolia ISD schools remain closed Friday.
Smoke from the fire has already prompted public health officials to issue an air-quality advisory for parts of northwest Harris County.
In Waller County, some 4,600 residents remain evacuated, and 75 homes have been reported destroyed.
