Cy-Fair landlord sues former tenant for $500K
A landlord company in Cy-Fair is suing after, it says, a former tenant has cost it more than $500,000 in damages.
Vintage Park filed a lawsuit on Sept. 1 in the Harris County District Court against Luxe Bar & Lounge, Martha Teal and others, citing breach of lease agreement and conversion.
Vintage Park says that on Dec. 5, 2008, it contracted to lease the defendants 4,253 square feet of retail space in Vintage Park Shopping Center, located at 114 Vintage Park Blvd. in Cy-Fair. According to the brief, the defendants breached this rental agreement by failing to pay rent, failing to purchase rental insurance, abandoning the property and damaging the property by taking attached fixtures with them, without the landlord’s consent.
The suit alleges the defendants owe Vintage Park $503,826.45 in liquidated damages.
Vintage Park is seeking damages, attorney’s fees and court costs. It is being represented in the case by Houston attorney George Gibson.
