Cypress residents sued over fatal drunken driving accident

Harris County parents have filed a wrongful death suit against Cypress residents after their son was killed by a drunk driver.

Dennis and Jacqueline Pennywell, on behalf of their deceased son Aaron Pennywell, filed a wrongful death suit on Sept. 12 in the Harris County District Court against Cypress residents Michael Giacona and Loren Lizmi.

The Pennywells say that on June 25, their son Aaron was killed when an intoxicated Giacona drove through a red light at the intersection of 15100 Spring Cypress Road and 14300 Huffmeister and slammed his white Ford E350 Econoline Van into Aaron’s Ford Mustang, running him off the four-lane intersection.

According to the brief, an intoxicated Giacona left his home, located on Heron Marsh Drive in Cypress, because he and Lizmi were arguing.

The Pennywells are seeking damages and court costs. They are being represented in the case by Houston attorney John Pipkin.
