Volleyball: Cy Ranch, Cy Falls in key match
Cy Ranch and Cy Falls split district matches before advancing to the playoffs last season, and as two of the top teams in 17-5A in 2011, both league battles between the pair are once again of key importance. What's at stake: A 17-5A victory in the eighth of 18 district matches and playoff positioning in the district standings The Lady Eagles fell 24-26, 25-17, 25-16, 25-15 in the first meeting at Cy Ranch, but came back to take a 25-11, 25-20, 21-25, 25-16 home win over the lady Mustangs in the second round last season. Spurlock put down 19 kills in a 25-13, 25-14, 25-19 sweep of Cy Ridge on Sept. 9 - Cy Ranch is under the direction of first-year head coach Arley Kocher - The Lady Mustangs host a 17-5A match at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, against Cy Lakes before starting the second round of district on the road at 6 p.m. on Sept. 27 at Jersey Village.
