Spring, Missouri City residents accused of fraud in Cy-Fair home sale
A Harris County couple is suing over claims they were defrauded by Spring and Missouri City residents when they purchased a home in Cy-Fair.
Trevor and Jorja Gilbert filed a lawsuit on Sept. 27 in Harris County District Court against Spring resident Anh Van Dang, Missouri City resident Chi Truc Hoang and others, citing violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, fraud in real estate sale and civil conspiracy.
The Gilberts say that on Oct. 2, 2009, the defendants sold them a defective home, located on River Garden Drive in Cy-Fair.
After the Gilberts moved into their new home, they remodeled the laundry room and found evidence of water penetration and water damage, according to the brief.
The suit alleges the defendants failed to disclose that the house had sustained damage by water.
The Gilberts are seeking damages, attorney’s fees and court costs. They are being represented in the case by Houston attorney Dana LeJune.
