Suit centers on hailstorm damage in Cy-Fair
Insurers are being sued over allegations they failed to settle fairly a claim in Cy-Fair.
William Hebert filed a lawsuit on Sept. 27 in Harris County District Court against Safeco Insurance Co. of Indiana, and others, citing violations of the Texas Insurance Code, fraud, conspiracy and breach of contract.
Hebert says that on July 26, 2009, a severe hailstorm struck Harris County, damaging his property, located in the 15000 block of Sierra Drive in Cy-Fair. According to the brief, the roof of the home was damaged, which caused significant damage to walls, insulation, ceilings, flooring, and interior and exterior structures.
The suit alleges the defendants mishandled and undercompensated Hebert’s claims.
Hebert is seeking damages, attorney’s fees and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Beaumont attorney Gregory Cox.
