'People's Lawyer' to speak at Lone Star's Cy-Fair campus
Richard Alderman will return to Lone Star College-CyFair (LSC-CyFair) for the People’s Law School community event on Thursday, Oct. 20.
Alderman appears regularly as the “Peoples Lawyer” on radio and television, is the author of Know Your Rights. He also writes a syndicated newspaper column called “Know Your Rights.”
Currently the associate dean at the University of Houston Law Center and holder of the Dwight Olds Chair in Law, he also serves as the director of the Center for Consumer Law. The American Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas have honored Alderman twice with their highest honor for his work in educating the public about the law.
Community members can choose to attend two of the following four sessions: “Consumer Law for Buying/Selling Goods and Services,” “Wills/Probate for Planning for Serious Illness or Death,” “Landlord/Tenant for Renting Apartments or Homes” and “Credit and Debt Collection for Managing Financial Matters.”
Seating is limited and online advance registration is required at www.peopleslawyer.net starting Thursday, Oct. 13. Presentations will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Conference Center at LSC-CyFair, located at 9191 Barker Cypress.
