'World's Largest Truck Convoy' to visit Sam Houston Race Park
The World’s Largest Truck Convoy will visit Houston on Saturday, Oct. 15.
Presented by the Special Olympics Texas Greater Houston area, the convoy is an opportunity for truckers to partner with SOTX athletes to raise awareness of the movement and celebrate the trucking industry.
The seventh annual event will begin with a continental breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by registration at 8:30 a.m. Opening ceremonies and sponsor awards kick off at 9:30 a.m. and the convoy rolls out of the Sam Houston Race Park at 10 a.m. Truckers will return to the race park at noon for convoy driver awards and lunch.
The convoy route starts by exiting Gate 6 onto Fallbrook Drive, left on Fallbrook, left on Fairbanks, right on Sam Houston Tollway, left onto 249, 249 to North Point Boulevard, U-turn at North Point, return to Sam Houston Race Park from 249, right on Sam Houston Tollway, left on Gessner, left on Fallbrook and a right into Gate 6 to where the convoy began.
The cost to register is $100 per truck, and the entry fee includes a T-shirt, cap, a goody bag and lunch.
