BRIX Wine Cellars wins award from magazine

BRIX Wine Cellars (BRIX"), a wine bar in the Vintage Park shopping center in Northwest Houston, was awarded Wine Enthusiast magazine's Award of Unique Distinction" for 2009. Wine Enthusiast magazine gives three levels of awards to applicants: Award of Distinction, Award of Unique Distinction, and Award of Ultimate Distinction. BRIX is one of eight restaurants in Texas to receive the second-highest level of recognition that Wine Enthusiast awards.
Since opening our doors in October 2008, we have provided our customers with top-notch service, an outstanding wine list and exceptional food," says Nita Miller, co-owner of BRIX. We are happy to be nationally recognized for the effort that we have put into bringing Houston a unique wine and food experience."
Applicants for the award complete a detailed questionnaire on their wine program including: personnel, training, wine storage methods, stemware choices, service options, special events, menus and wine lists. BRIX features over 2,500 bottles representing more than 400 different wine labels stored in a climate-controlled wine vault. Wines served at the correct temperature and in proper stemware help customers fully enjoy the flavors and complexity of wine. Wine and food go hand in hand: a full kitchen and well-trained staff round out the overall experience at BRIX.
