Cypress Fairbanks ISD accused of discrimination, retaliation
An elementary school teacher is suing over claims the principal of her school retaliated against her for filing a complaint with the EEOC.
Kerry Parffrey filed a lawsuit on Oct. 31 in the Harris County District Court against Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District, in Cy-Fair, citing discrimination and retaliation.
Parffrey says on Jan. 3, 2007, school principal Barbara Fine hired her to teach elementary school in the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District, but the principal retired in 2010.
According to the brief, Principal Tonya Goree replaced Principal Fine and continually discriminates against Parffrey because of her sex, age, disability, race and national origin.
The suit further alleges Goree retaliated against Parffrey, by creating a hostile work environment, after she complained about her treatment to the EEOC.
