The Clay Road Baptist School Middle School volleyball team rode a 16-game winning streak and took the West Houston Christian Athletics Conference championship on Oct. 20, at the finals held at Logos Prep Academy in Sugar Land.
The first game was very difficult, but ended with a win for CRBS and a score of 25-23.
Calvary Episcopal School won the second game with a score of 25-15.
During the final game, which led to the championship title, Samantha Skrehothit, a “hotspot” with 12 straight serves, helped CRBS to the championship win.
“What an incredible season for our girls. The six-member team of two eighth-graders, one seventh grader and three fifth graders really rose to the occasion against some very skilled and disciplined teams,” said Coach Patrick Stewart. “This young team has really learned what it means to grow up in the fast-paced sport of volleyball and what it means to face a challenge head on and come out victorious.”
