Houston Literacy Advance welcomes new executive director
The board of directors for Literacy Advance of Houston recently named Melanie Fisk as its new executive director.
Under Fisk’s direction, the board and staff will carry out a three-year strategic plan, developed in early 2011, to manage growth and sustainability through literacy.
Fisk first worked for Literacy Advance in 2006 while pursuing her master's degrees in social work and business at the University of Houston. She then returned in 2009 to take over the deputy director position.
Fisk is succeeding Jane Holston, who retired from the position after eight years.
