Cy-Fair resident accused of attack, stabbing

A Harris County man is suing after, he says, four men attacked him outside a of Cy-Fair bar.

William Emery filed a lawsuit on Nov. 21 in Harris County District Court against Cy-Fair resident Daryl Shane Ooten, Grey Lenz and two other unknown men, citing negligence, negligence per se, assault, aggravated assault, attempted murder, gross negligence, false imprisonment, conspiracy, malice and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Emery says on Sept. 3, 2009, the defendants beat him in the parking lot of Oz Bar, located at 9558 FM 1960 West. Emery, a country-western singer, visited the bar with his girlfriend that night to sing karaoke, according to the brief.

The suit alleges the attack, which was caught on surveillance video, occurred after the four men called him a “metro” and a “fag.” One of the men held him down while the others punched, kicked and stabbed him, he claims.

Emery is seeking all damages and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney James Rensimer.
