Houston Choral Society to perform holiday concert at local church
The Houston Choral Society will hold its “Christmas Potpourri” concert on Saturday, Dec. 3, at Foundry United Methodist Church.
The concert will feature a composition by Dr. Arnold Rosner entitled “Magnificat,” which features both neo-Renaissance and neo-Baroque choral music against a background of brass instrumentation.
Along with Rosner’s composition, the choral society will perform holiday selections that include “O, Holy Night” and the “Hallelujah Choral” from Handel’s “Messiah.” The concert also includes holiday favorites like “Silent Night,” “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” and “White Christmas.”
Tickets are on sale at www.houstonchoral.org. Discounts are available for group sales, children, students and senior citizens. Some tickets will be available at the door.
The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. and Foundry United Methodist Church is located at 8350 Jones Road in Houston. A free dessert reception for the audience will follow the performance.
