Cypress Falls High School volleyball team presents check for local breast cancer organization
The Cypress Falls High School volleyball team recently presented The Rose-Houston with a donation worth $5,879.
The money was raised through the Dig Pink! fund raising event with Cy-Fair High School on Oct. 14.
"The event was a complete success and an amazing show of support from our staff, students, volleyball players and fans," said Pam Blakely, Cypress Falls assistant volleyball coach, in a press release. "Our original goal was $2,500, and to raise almost $6,000 for such a noble cause was phenomenal."
The Rose is a nonprofit breast cancer organization that provides mammography screening, diagnosis, access to treatment and support to all women regardless of their ability to pay.
The money raised will allow The Rose to provide free mammograms to 59 underprivileged women in the Houston area.
