Lone Star College-Cy Fair to offer free workshops
Lone Star College-Cy Fair's "Learning, Inspiration, Fellowship and Enrichment" program will host the following workships from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesdays in the library, located at 9191 Barker Cypress:
"Detoxification and Your Health" will be on Jan. 11, 2012. Dr. Chase Hayden will talk about the benefits of detoxification.
"Lincoln and the Road to the Emancipation Proclamation" will be on Jan. 18. The event will feature Rice professor Caleb McDaniel, who will make a frank examination of Lincoln's views about slavery. The library has an exhibition, "Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War," which will be up until Feb. 17.
"The Perfection of Deception: Magicians Who have Changed World History: Magic tricks to stop political uprisings?" will be on Jan 25. The event will discuss the unknown history of magicians and their roles in various historic events such as working with the CIA and helping to create camouflage.
