Cy-Fair Traders Village blamed for wheelchair incident
Traders Village is being sued over claims unsafe conditions at its Cy-Fair location caused a sign language student to injure her hand.
Annabelle Figueroa filed a lawsuit on Dec. 6 in Harris County District Court against Traders Village, and others, citing negligence.
Figueroa, a sign language student, says on Sept. 17 she injured her hand, left knee and right ankle while shopping with her grandmother at Traders Village, located at 7979 N. Eldridge Road in Cy-Fair. According to the brief, the wheelchair the defendants provided Figueroa, for her grandmother, tipped backwards, causing Figueroa to twist her right ankle and tear the tendons and muscles in her hand.
The suit alleges the accident scraped her hand so badly the bone was exposed.
Figueroa is seeking damages and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Linda Laurent Thomas.
