Cy-Fair company named in wrongful death suit
A Cy-Fair company is being sued after a workplace accident in Cy-Fair allegedly caused an employee’s death.
Elizabeth Baumann, individually and on behalf of the deceased John Leo Baumann’s estate, filed a wrongful death lawsuit on Dec. 29 in Harris County District Court against PHC Fluid Power, doing business as Pneumatic and Hydraulic Co., Atlas Copco Compressors and Wilson Co.
Baumann says on Feb. 8, a workplace accident killed Mr. Baumann. According to the brief, he was working at PHC Fluid Power, located at 15811 Tuckerton Road in Cy-Fair, when a pressurized hose broke free from an air compressor and struck him in the head.
The blunt trauma to the head caused his death three days later, the suit alleges.
The Baumann estate is seeking damages and court costs. It is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Sean Patrick Tracey.
