Cypress hospital honors physicians
Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital recently honored seven physicians for outstanding clinical excellence and commitment to the community.
Each year the staff of the hospital cast their vote for medical staff members based on various categories for clinical quality, communication, patient satisfaction, engagement in hospital activities and more.
The distinctions, known as the Cypress Awards, are awarded to the physicians and specialists receiving the highest votes in their respective categories. The Physician of Year is presented to the one physician who received the most votes overall across all categories.
Dr. Marcus Barnett, obstetrics and gynecology, received the Physician of the Year Award for the second year in a row. Other award recipients included Dr. Richard Hausner, pathology; Dr. Uzma Iqbal, hematology and oncology; Dr. Doan Nguyen, orthopedic surgery; Dr. William O’Malley, emergency medicine; Dr. Chaitanya Shah, cardiology; and Dr. Bimal Talati, internal medicine.
