Kids R Kids of Barker Cypress Now NAEYC Accredited

Kids R Kids of Barker Cypress celebrated the holiday season with a joint Christmas and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation party last Dec. 16, 2011, at the Hilton Hotel of Post Oak. The owners of the Barker Cypress Kids R Kids franchise, Darold and Wendy Frederick, hosted the party for staff members in special recognition of their hard work and dedication in completing the NAEYC accreditation.

“The generosity of our owners is always overwhelming. It is nice to be appreciated for all that we do,” said office manager Lisa Hayes of Kids R Kids of Barker Cypress. “The entire staff had an incredible time with the fabulous food, music and dancing. It was fun to see everyone in a setting different from their work environment.”

The NAEYC is the world’s largest organization on the pedagogy of young children, working with a network of more than 300 state and local affiliates and an expanding alliance of international organizations that share the same mission. The NAEYC determines and monitors the standards for superior early childhood education programs and after a careful review process, accredits programs that satisfy its standards. The five-year accreditation that Kids R Kids of Barker Cypress was granted serves to validate the high quality of the academy’s programs for children.

Kids R Kids of Barker Cypress would also like to take this opportunity to welcome the return of its children on Jan. 4. The school-age care program will be closed Jan. 2 but will run a full-day program for school-age children on Jan. 3.

"Maintaining safety while creating a fun and nurturing environment for our school agers is our main goal at Kids R Kids of Barker Cypress. The children who attend here aren't 'just kids' in our program, they are family to all of us," REC Center Leader Amanda McGuire said.

The program currently features open enrollment for infants through children aged 5 years and children between the ages of 5 and 12. In addition to care before and after school, Kids R Kids offers half care for pre-kindergarten students attending local schools.
