Cy-Fair grad Baker shines, but Hartford loses
Ryan Baker, a 2008 graduate of Cy-Fair High School, scored 14 points Sunday afternoon, but it wasn't enough, as the University of Hartford fell at home 72-59 in an America East Conference men's college basketball game against the University of Vermont.
Baker, a 6-foot-5 junior guard, added five rebounds for the Hawks.
Baker was a first-team all-district selection as a senior (2007-08) at Cy-Fair after transferring from Cy-Christian, where he helped the school win three-straight state titles.
Prior to enrolling at Hartford, Baker played one season of prep basketball at Genesis One Christian Academy, where he averaged 17 points and seven rebounds per game.
He is majoring in economics and finance at Hartford.
