Cy-Fair ISD tech fest draws record crowd
The third annual Cy-Fair Technology Festival was held Jan. 26 at the Berry Center, drawing a record 3,802 people.
The festival was a districtwide celebration of technology, with more than 1,000 students showing off projects. Using Microsoft Office 2010 and Web 2.0 tools, they presented ideas involving robotics, Web animation, industrial technology, education and training, SmartBoards and video technology.
Becky Cook, director of instruction technology, hopes that 1,500 students will participate next year.
"The Technology Festival was incredible, and the turnout exceeded my expectations," Cook said in a press release. "We had great school representation in the arena, and the Career and Technology Department took over the conference room and theater. I was extremely pleased with the quality of the products being showcased."
