Cy-Fair students win awards in yearbook contest
Nine Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District students have won 10 Gold Key awards in the 2011 Herff Jones Quill and Scroll Yearbook Excellence Contest.
Judges chose 214 national winners from 1,505 entries.
The following students won Gold Key awards for reporting, captions and visual packages:
From Jersey Village High School:
Sandy Tang, Student Life Spread, "A World Flair"
Yesenia Lagunas, Sports Action Photography, "Celebration"
Myrna Garcia, Student Life Spread, "Segway Time"
Rebecca Moscoso, Student Life Spread, "Taking Flight"
Cameron Korenek, Sports Action Photography, "Pole Vault"
From Cypress Creek High School:
Asia Collins, Advertising, "Senior Ads"
Joy Atkinson, Sports Action Photo, "Leaping for the End Zone" and "Index, Index and Team Photos F-H."
From Cypress Falls High School:
Lila Love, Clubs or Organizations Spread, "National Champs"
Leah Lebeau, Academic Photo, "Bridge Building."
Winners of the Quill and Scroll 2011 Yearbook Excellence Contest are eligible, as seniors, to apply for one of the Edward J. Nell Memorial or George and Ophelia Gallup scholarships.
