Cy-Fair Medical Center Hospital makes donation to Houston Food Bank
Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital donated nearly 1,700 pounds of food to the Houston Food Bank in 2011.
Items included cereals, pasta, fruit juices, canned fruits and vegetables and soups. Food was spread throughout the food bank's 18-county service area.
"We are dedicated to continuing our active role in promoting the health of our community and what better way to help achieve that than to provide food for our neighbors," said Terry Wheeler, CEO at Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital, in a press release. "As the number of people needing food continues to rise in our area, we are proud to support the Houston Food Bank in this important fight against hunger."
The hospital also supports organizations such as Star College, Cy-Fair Educational Foundation, American Heart Association, Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce and Boys and Girls Country.
