Cy Springs alum contributes in Florida Gulf Coast hoops win
Nicoya Jackson, a 2008 graduate of Cy Springs High School, netted six points to help lead Florida Gulf Coast to a 54-34 win in women's college basketball action on Saturday.
The 5-foot 6-inch senior guard also tallied two steals and two rebounds for the Eagles.
At Cy Springs, Jackson was the team's newcomer of the year in 2006 and collected first-team all-district, all-region and all-conference honors twice.
A criminal justice major, Jackson transferred to Florida Gulf Coast after playing two seasons at Southwestern Christian College and during her sophomore campaign averaged 20.1 points per game.
She is the daughter of Tracey Jackson.
