New principal named for Spillane Middle School
Michael Maness will be replacing Gary Kinninger as principal at Spillane Middle School.
Maness was previously the principal at Warner Elementary School. He has 18 years of experience in education, including serving as a teacher at Hairgrove Elementary School, an assistant principal at Ault Elementary School and the principal at Jowell Elementary School.
Kinninger was named the principal at Cypress Woods High School in December.
“Words cannot express how excited I am to begin my new journey as a Spillane Spartan,” Maness said, according to a press release. “I am honored to have been chosen for this opportunity and look forward to building relationships and to working with the students, staff and the community as we continue our Spartan traditions and create new memories on our quest for excellence.”
Maness received his bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian University and his master’s from Sam Houston State University.
Spillane Middle School is located at 13403 Woods Spillane Blvd., in Cypress.
