Cyclist in critical condition after hit-and-run

Crime Stoppers and investigators with the Harris County Sheriff's Office are searching for a motorist who allegedly struck a cyclist Tuesday and then left the scene, leaving the victim in critical condition.
 
The 58-year-old cyclist, who was not identified in the news release, was riding south at about 10:10 p.m. and was attempting to cross the eastbound lanes of FM 529, near the 13700 block of the highway. The vehicle was eastbound on FM 529 when it struck the victim.

After striking the cyclist, the driver allegedly failed to stop and help the victim, who was transported to an area hospital and remains in critical condition.
The news release did not contain a vehicle description.

Crime Stoppers will pay $5,000 for information leading to the filing of felony charges or arrest of the motorist.
