Strake Jesuit, Cy Creek HS grads square off in college basketball
Cy Creek and Strake Jesuit high school graduates faced each other Friday, as Carnegie Mellon beat Emory 82-79.
Cy Creek graduate Rashaun Riley scored seven points, had two assists, tallied a theft, and blocked a shot in the win.
Riley played at Cy Creek from 2006-2010.
Strake Jesuit grad Austin Claunch scored 11 points, dished out eight assists, grabbed two rebounds and blocked a shot in the loss.
Claunch played at Strake Jesuit for Coach Wayne Jones in 2004-2008, lettering three years. As team captain in 2006-2007 and 2007-2008, Claunch received All-District honors and Strake Jesuit's Kenneth McGregor Award. He also earned a spot on the Class 5A All-Academic Basketball team. Claunch is the son of Jim and Amy Claunch.
